Jonathan Hurt – True

RD 29/07/2021 • 2 Song • 6 Min. 45 Sek.

I »wrote« this song for my mother, who always wanted me to write a song that describes our relationship and emotional bond with each other that I should sing for »her« if one day she passed away. I have never questioned this wish. Furthermore, I also never wrote the song. It was only a matter of time before I could indulge in these feelings, and at that point had a keyboard on hand. »True« expresses my feelings for her. It mirrors the love I carry with me that only she was able to give to me exactly that way it was given to her. Regardless of whether it’s a good relationship, I love her, and loving her means that she was able to love me to learn to love (others).
.
When I »wrote« »True«, I was fighting alongside with my friend for her mother’s survival in uncertainty whether she could beat cancer. The reason for these two versions was that these happened at the same time. The reflection on my relationship with my mother and the noticeable unconditional love for her mother during this time showed me that there is universal love in a universal story.
.
This event formed out the Acoustic Version that is heavier and easier at the same time: Easy as the wonderful soul of a specific person with universal love.
.
Regardless of whether it’s a good relationship or not: Into blue, I stay for you, true.
