Ti Amo

It’s the year 1995: Pulsating rhythms, Home-Boy, Eurodance, Jägermeister Red-Bull, and the excitement of first kisses. In the midst of this dazzling kaleidoscope, Ti Amo’s mother sat at her Singer sewing machine, sewing the outfits for DJ Bobo’s dancers from the Bravo Starschnitt for us. Alban’s grandmother, a good friend, lends us her curling iron so that we can get closer to the hairstyles of our idols. The loading ramp of the SB wholesale store in our neighborhood is our stage, while our audience is a wheat field opposite. With full dedication to pop culture, we perform »Let the dream come true«: This genre gives us a »voice« without words: Dance & Rhythm. We rehearsed relentlessly for our legendary parties, which took place at Thilo’s Home: Thilo always filmed everything and was, in a way, our manager. At his parents‘ house, there were always delicious Italian mortadella sandwiches. On Fridays, under the special supervision of the operator (free drinks card), we were already allowed, at the age of 15, to perform in the Sound Garden and dance to Robert Miles‘ ‚Children‘ in the Extended Version – an introductory show with 540s across the nightclub and grindings on a rail we brought with us. Afterwards, with our earned 50 marks, we could drink way too much and dance enveloped in Eurodance euphoria, featuring artists like Masterboy, Capella, RMB, La Bouche, Pharao, U96, Dune, Magic Affair, Robert Miles, and many more: Ti Amo :*
